The area was adorned with ornate hanging potted plants and fluttering Qatari Flags. A huge stage was put up near Rumailha Family Park, from where the country's leaders watched the National Day parade which started at 8.20AM morning. Two separate galleries to view the parade was put up near the stage. Giant screens were set up at several points all across the cornice, including at Al Bida Park and Sheraton Park. The whole area reflected like a festival air, Qatari nationals, expatriate community members from every national joined the grand function in huge numbers. Around one lakh people witnessed the grand parade. Series of activities for families and kids were lined up in various places. City Center Shopping Mall, one of the largest mall in State of Qatar hosted Traditional Qatari performers to mark National Day. Specially decorated with flags and festoons to mark the occasions, the mall hosted traditional dancers who performed to the rhythm  of songs from countries past.
