Revolution Day or the Day of the Revolution refers to public holidays or remembrance days in various country held in commemoration of an important event in the country's history, usually the starting point or a turning point in a revolution that led to significant political change.
The Revolution Day is observed on July 23rd of every year in Egypt. It is a public holiday. 23rd of July is celebration of the revolution in 1953 that changed Egypt from monarchy to a Republic. This national holiday is the anniversary of the military overthrow of the monarchy on July 23, 1952. The new government formally instituted the Republic of Egypt on June 18, 1953.
