On Wednesday (11th August 2010) air space was closed for two hours approximately at IGI airport. A number of flights got reschedule by two hours delay in their flying schedule.

This sir space closure was done as a routine before Independence day and Republic day every year. Airport sources said, " All the Airline operating companies were aware of this air space clousre and had reschedule flights accordingly in advance. But still there were few flights which lined up for departure at the time of operations starting and need to wait till 2.45 p.m. so the exercise got over and normal flights at Indra Gandhi Airport could resume.

There is another Indra Gandhi Airport closure scheduled for Thursday i.e. 12th August 2010 as well during the same period and passengers are advised that they should check schedules with their respective airlines before moving out for the airport.
