Sri Lanka On Arrival visa for Indians is Suspended

The Sri Lanka Government decided that Indian tourist will not get visa on arrival from September 30, 2010 it means tourists coming to Sri Lanka will now have to get their tourist visas stamped from Sri Lankan missions abroad. Immigration department announced on Friday that they are withdrawing the facility of  visa on arrival for tourist from 79 countries including the US, India, Japan, China, the UK and European nation. According to the data o the tourism 83500 Indian tourist came to Sri Lanka in 2009.  

Due to Lack of reciprocity the Lankan government facing problem in issuing visa on arrival, only Maldives and Singapore citizen will continue to get their visas on arrival. Sri Lanka was recently ranked number one tourist destination, maximum number of tourists is from India.
