Flights will continue to operate to Srinagar up to Sep 2 after which the flights would be diverted to Avantipura. “All necessary arrangements are being made on an urgent basis to ensure flights to Avantipura airport during the closure of Srinagar airport".Airlines have agreed to immediately open their bookings. Avantipura airport is situated at a distance of 26 km from Srinagar city and is one of 14 airbases under the control of the Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force.
